  1. Owners

The owners of Air in the House also own three stores and work with one service company:

    • Plumbing Supply and More, an online plumbing and HVAC supply store.
    • SoftPro Water Systems, a water treatment store.
    • Quality Water Treatment, another water treatment store.
    • Central Plumbing & HVAC, a plumbing and heating service company in Bucks and Montgomery counties, Pennsylvania, which the owners work with.

None of these businesses writes or edits pages here, and none of them pays to be mentioned. The pages are written by the Air in the House editors, as who writes this site explains.

  2. Which pages link to them

A small number of pages link to one of these businesses where the product type genuinely fits the paragraph. Everywhere else, there are no store links at all.

Plumbing Supply and More (furnace filters, duct parts, a wall vent hood, tape, registers and dampers):

SoftPro Water Systems and Quality Water Treatment (reverse osmosis drinking-water systems):

Central Plumbing & HVAC (a heating service page):

    • Whole house ventilation, makeup air for range hoods and ERV vs HRV. These pages talk about hiring a heating contractor and having a combustion safety test done, and the link shows an example of what a local heating company's service page lists. Central Plumbing & HVAC works only in its part of Pennsylvania, so for most readers it is an example, not a suggestion to call.
  3. How links are marked

Every link to one of these four businesses has a short note right beside it saying how the business is tied to this site: shared owners, or a company Air in the House works with. Pages with these links also carry a box that names all four businesses, so the relationship is never hidden in a footer.

The links themselves are plain. They carry no tracking codes or referral tags, and they are not paid placements. No business, including these four, pays to be mentioned anywhere on Air in the House, and the advice on a page doesn't change depending on whether a store link sits beside it.

Links to EPA, the Department of Energy, the building code and other sources are citations, not endorsements, and have nothing to do with ownership. For what this site collects when you click around, see what this site collects.
